1. In my paragraph I am changing a few things. I am going to be changing my first concrete detail. It will instead become the second quote moving my original second one to the first. This quote will be more of a paraphrasing of the part when Cecily is confirming that Algernon is Ernest and Jack isn't, but is also the part where she finds out Algernon is really Algernon. My commentary for that quote will be accordingly different. It will be about how they have fallen for the person in their head, but they are becoming confused with the real one who isn't like they imagined. I am going to change around some of my other commentary a little bit, but not huge significance.
2. The main thing I am having trouble with is the concluding sentance. I don't want to repeat myself and just go over everything that I have just said, but I don't want to say something new and confuse a reader. From what you guys remember of my paragraph what should I do?
The easiest way to write the concluding sentence would be to restate the topic sentence or, if you haven't, restate your topic sentence and tie the thesis into it. Another way would be to tie all your ideas into the thesis but i guess that would pretty much be restating your ideas. Restating your ideas isn't bad, as long as you can think of a way to reword them well, an example could be tying all your ideas into the thesis. There are others ways to write your concluding sentence without restating anything you've already written if you want to, though. A good example of that would be stating the thesis in a way that ties in to your paragraph. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Zach's comment with basically rewording your body paragraph thesis. I was having difficulty with the concluding sentence too, but I think briefly tying together what you said already by saying it in a different way works best. I'm not sure if that made sense but you can also try to use the sentence that represents your paragraph from the introduction as a reference for your conclusion. Hope this helped! :)
